Privacy Policy

SwipeClean

1. Overview

SwipeClean ("the App") is an Android application developed by Joshua Wilson Fleming ("I", "me", or "my"). SwipeClean helps users review and manage the apps installed on their Android device through a swipe-based interface.

This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and your rights as a user. I am committed to protecting your privacy. SwipeClean is designed to function entirely on your device — no personal data is collected, stored, or transmitted to any external server.

2. Information the App Accesses

SwipeClean accesses the following information solely on your device to provide its core functionality:

2.1 Installed Applications

The App reads the list of applications installed on your device, including:

• Application name and package identifier
• Application icon
• APK file size and installation date
• Total storage usage (APK, data, and cache) — Pro tier only, requires your explicit permission
• Last-used date — Pro tier only, requires your explicit permission

This information is displayed to you within the App and is never transmitted off your device.

2.2 Usage Statistics (Pro Tier Only)

If you choose to upgrade to SwipeClean Pro and grant the PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS permission, the App accesses app usage history to display the last-used date for each application. This access is read-only, used solely for display purposes, and never transmitted off your device.

2.3 Local App Data

The App stores the following data locally on your device using an on-device SQLite database:

• Your swipe decisions (keep, remove, snooze) and their timestamps
• Snooze schedules
• Usage statistics such as total apps removed and storage freed
• Streak and gamification counters

This data never leaves your device.

3. Android Permissions

SwipeClean requests the following Android permissions:

• QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES — Required to enumerate the user-installed apps on your device for display in the swipe interface. Used solely to read package names, labels, icons, and sizes. No app data is transmitted off the device.
• REQUEST_DELETE_PACKAGES — Required to trigger Android's native uninstall confirmation dialog. SwipeClean cannot silently uninstall apps; all uninstalls require your explicit confirmation through Android's system dialog.
• RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED — Required to reschedule snooze reminders after your device restarts.
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+) — Required to send local reminder notifications for snoozed apps. You may deny this permission; the App will function normally without it.
• PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS (Pro tier only) — Required to display last-used dates and full storage breakdowns. Granted manually by the user via Android Settings. Used read-only; data is never transmitted off the device.

4. Third-Party Services

4.1 Google AdMob (Free Tier)

The free tier of SwipeClean displays a banner advertisement powered by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect certain device identifiers and usage data to serve contextually relevant ads in accordance with Google's privacy policies. You can review Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

Pro subscribers do not see any advertisements.

4.2 RevenueCat (Pro Subscriptions)

In-app purchases and subscription management are handled by RevenueCat. RevenueCat processes purchase receipts and manages entitlements on your behalf. RevenueCat may collect anonymized purchase data in accordance with their privacy policy, available at revenuecat.com/privacy.

SwipeClean does not store your payment information. All billing is handled by Google Play.

5. Data I Do Not Collect

SwipeClean does not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:

• Your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information
• Device location data
• Camera or microphone data
• Contacts or calendar data
• The contents of your files or messages
• Crash reports or analytics telemetry (in version 1.0)

6. Data Retention and Deletion

All data stored by SwipeClean (swipe history, snooze records, statistics) is stored locally on your device. You can delete this data at any time by uninstalling the App. Within the App, you can reset your kept-apps list from the Settings screen.

7. Children's Privacy

SwipeClean is not directed at children under the age of 13. I do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. The App's functionality is device-management in nature and does not involve any social features or content directed at minors.

8. Changes to This Policy

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by an updated effective date at the top of this document. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. For material changes, I will update the policy version visible in the App's Settings screen.
